Nub Blog #2 2011

The old theater ‘call’ “Plenty of good seats still available!” was used before today’s Super Bowl commercials were part of our culture. When Northwest Soccer Camp launched its 40th year –and SECOND YEAR at Bastyr U in Kenmore, WA – I wrote a blog (now referred to as Nub Blog) - announcing our 2011 schedule. We had a great first week and are midway through our second week - “A Touch of Dutch” with famous Dutch-American Coach J P Verhees. THE PUTTING GREEN, PLUSH NEW FIELDS ARE A SENSATION and, now, we are approaching EDU WEEK - July 10-15! The week features the famous Edu, Pele’s teammate who is the “Pied Piper” of soccer and was the youngest player to ever play in the World Cup. Regrettably, the week is FULL and CLOSED to resident campers; however, a few Day Camp openings are still available. More importantly, there are a few openings available for the rest of the summer. Following ‘hard’ on Edu Week are back-to-back Elite Weeks with a staff of top college and club coaches already in place. Our Elite Weeks represent massive challenges for those players who are looking to improve their game in order to compete for top level team play and solid preparation for college and beyond. For the 21st year the Elite Weeks will again feature Speed and Explosion programs under the guidance of Dr. Ken Foreman, Hall of Fame and U.S. Olympic Head Coach, along with his world record-holder wife Denise and Montana State U Head Track and Field Coach Dale Kennedy.  You can sign up now by logging on to www.nwsoccer.org and sign up “For the kick of your life!”

ULTIMATE SOCCER

May 18, 2011 - Northwest Soccer Camp announces Uncle Nubby’s blastoff into the world of BLOG!! Hey, that’s it: The World According to McBLOG!! Or Blog-o-Nub!!! Please indulge me while the launch is underway: Blog #1 or Nubism #1 is a word about the name change for Family Week! It has been changed to: ULTIMATE WEEK! The reason: Family Week, for those new to NSC, was a bit confusing because a number of people thought they had to attend with a family.

THE ANSWER: This week, the finale of the 2011 season, is for EVERYONE--kids of all ages, attending as a single camper or with the whole family. We have a program for all ages; all skill levels! Click here to get the full story! You won’t want to miss this one!
