Resident
Camps
Northwest Soccer Camp provides the ultimate resident camp experience.
At Bastyr University, surrounded by St. Edward Park, our resident camps comprise programs for Future
Stars ages 7-9; Field Players and Goalkeepers ages 10-18; Strikers and Goalkeepers ages 14 and up, Elite players
ages 12-18, Junior Advanced ages 10-12, and Advanced ages 13-18. Elite camps feature technical, tactical and positional play for
players who have advanced beyond basic skills.
Space is limited. Take advantage of our Early Bird special: Save $50 by paying in full and registering on or before March 1.
Our coaching staff is selected for their ability to challenge young soccer players to improve and advance
their soccer skills. They also strive to provide each camper with experiences
rich with fun, hard work, laughter and the value of teamwork.
Our camper-to-coach ratio for ages 7-9 is 1:8 and 1:15 for older age groups.
However, our team teaching concept sometimes means a
1:1 ratio. The underlying philosophy is that each child is an "individual" needing
the utmost in personal attention and tutoring. This provides a meaningful learning
environment for your child and allows our staff to provide more personal evaluations
at the end of each week.
For elite and older campers, evaluations providing comments and perspective from each camper's coach are distributed at closing ceremonies. Each evaluation is handwritten by the coach, and
because of this personalized approach, many times we hear from campers
that have cherished their evaluation for years to come.
Resident campers can expect two
challenging training sessions per day in addition to league games each afternoon. Sessions focus
not only on basic skills and the development of technical and tactical play,
but also stress fitness, good training habits and good sporting behavior.
Off-field activities include everything from proper rest breaks to fun-filled
activities. The scenic Bastyr campus, located on the north shore of Lake Washington, offers a friendly setting next to the lush and forested 316-acre St. Edward State Park that provides a quiet, reflective atmosphere for work, study and relaxation. Campers choose from a variety of
indoor and outdoor optional activities, including soccer adaptable games
of basketball, soccer tennis and other free-time field options. In addition,
there are waterfront activities, trail hikes, dorm Olympics, movies (mostly big time soccer games) and one of the finest arts and crafts programs under the watchful eyes and
gracious tutelage of caring counselors.
Our Elite Week is a no-nonsense week of intense soccer training for male and
female players seeking college acceptance and higher level play. All goalkeeping
sessions are designed for beginners through elite-level play.
